About the SBWCC UK
The website is all about showing our hairless cavies (guinea pigs)
The Skinnies, Baldwins and Werewolves Breeds within the United Kingdom.
The SBWCC UK is the first Cavy Club within the UK that caters to the Hairless breeds of the Skinnies, Baldwins and Werewolves.
We are not affiliated with the British Cavy Council as they don't think that the Hairless breeds are worthy of being shown and judged. We aim to prove them wrong and by showing their successes on the show scene ourselves, we are hoping one day that the BCC will allow these beautiful naked piggies to be shown alongside their haired counterparts, as is done in other countries; Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Czechoslovakia & Belgium.
We also aim to educate the public on the accurate care of the Hairless cavies, as well as widening the gene pool to consistently produce good reproductive stock, aiming to achieve and meet the standards in other countries.
We have got the Haired cavies that are from skinny breeding, the Lakelands and the Skinny carriers. The Lakelands can be shown in their own classes within the New & Emerging breeds held by the Rare Varieties Cavy Club, though admittedly, they will never be shown as a standardised rare variety. So we have the opportunity to show these special pigs within this club.
Also another haired cavy would be the large guinea pig version, the Cuy. These animals are Polydactyly in that they have extra toes. The BCC was going to allow the Cuy to have it's own club, but for some reason, when it formed up, it didn't take off. So we are showing them alongside the Lakeland and Hairless Cavies but in their own respective classes.

About the Skinnies
Skinnies are born without any hair, except on their noses, feet and genital areas. The amount of hair on the face varies from cavy to cavy from being barely there to heavily bearded faces with whiskers.
All four feet to be haired up to halfway up their legs.
Ideally the cavies should have some hair around their scrotum area.
Their skin is soft and supple, with a wrinkly folded appearance.
Their body shape should be compact and cobby, almost like a brick, with thick necks and rounded rumps.

About the Baldwins
Baldwins are born fully haired and over a period of a few weeks they shed and lose all their hair, excluding their whiskers.
They begin to lose hair at around a week old beginning with their eyes, and spreading outward over their faces, over their shoulders then round their belly to the rump, sometimes having a 'Tutu' effect by their 3rd week.
Sometimes the baldness isn't always completed and some cavies do have hairy feet or slight patches of hair remaining.
Their skin is soft, but almost with a rubbery texture as well as being wrinkly and folded.
Their body shape should be compact and cobby, build like a brick, with thick necks and
rounded rumps.

About the Werewolves
Werewolves are basically just overhaired Skinnies.
They have alot of sparse crinkly hair growing over their shoulders and sometimes over their rump, giving them a really hairy look, like werewolves.
They also have skin that is wrinkly and folded.
Their body shape should be compact and cobby, almost like a brick, with thick necks and rounded rumps.
